Closet doors

Closet doors that glide, stay on track and look the part

Closet doors take a lot of daily abuse, and builder-grade tracks do not last. We replace worn bifold, bypass and mirrored closet doors with better doors and hardware that open smoothly, stay aligned and match the rest of your interior doors.

Small doors, big daily difference

Closet doors are opened and closed more than almost any other door in the house, and the builder-grade versions — thin bifolds on plastic pivots, bypass doors on flimsy tracks — rarely last. When they jump off the track, scrape the carpet or will not stay closed, it is usually time for better doors and better hardware.

Match the house

If you are replacing your interior doors with shaker or panel doors, matching the closet doors pulls the whole interior together. Most styles are available as bifold and bypass panels, and mirrored options add light to bedrooms.

Better hardware

We install heavier tracks, metal pivots and smooth rollers, set the floor guides and adjust everything for even gaps. The result is a closet door that opens quietly and stays aligned — which is really all you want from a closet door.

Why closet doors

Why replace your closet doors

Smooth, quiet operation

Quality tracks, pivots and rollers end the jumping, scraping and binding.

A matched interior

Match closet doors to new shaker or panel interior doors for a cohesive look.

Mirrors that do double duty

Mirrored bypass doors brighten bedrooms and replace a separate full-length mirror.

Airflow where it helps

Louvered doors let air circulate in closets that tend to feel damp.

Florida homes

Closets and Florida humidity

Closets are small, enclosed spaces that can trap humidity — especially on exterior walls and near bathrooms. Doors that let some air through, and a well-sealed paint finish on all door edges, help keep closets fresher.

  • Louvered doors improve airflow in laundry, linen and utility closets.
  • Seal every edge of wood and MDF doors to resist moisture.
  • Quality rollers and pivots do not corrode or bind in humid weather.
  • Mirrored doors need solid framing and safety-backed glass.

Before you order

Before you order closet doors

  1. Access

Bifolds open most of the closet at once; bypass doors open half at a time.

  2. Opening size

Measure the finished opening — standard sizes fit most, but custom sizes are available.

  3. Style match

Match your interior doors so the house reads as one design.

  4. Hardware quality

Heavier tracks, pivots and rollers make the biggest difference day to day.

Questions

Closet Doors: frequently asked questions

Bifold or bypass — which is better?

Bifolds give access to most of the closet at once but need a little swing space. Bypass doors need no swing but only open half the closet at a time. Wide closets often suit bypass; standard reach-ins suit bifolds.

Can you replace just the track?

Sometimes. If the doors are in good shape and you like them, new hardware may be enough. We will tell you honestly.

Are mirrored closet doors safe?

Quality mirrored doors use safety-backed or tempered glass in sturdy frames so the glass holds together if broken.

Can closet doors match my new interior doors?

Yes. Most interior door styles are available as bifolds and bypass panels.

How long does closet door replacement take?

A single closet is usually an hour or two; a whole home can typically be done in a day.
