The easiest whole-home update
Most homes in Central Florida were built with hollow-core, six-panel interior doors and builder-grade brass knobs. Twenty years later, they are dented, mismatched, noisy and dated. Replacing them is one of the fastest, least disruptive ways to make a house feel new — often completed in a day or two.
Pre-hung or slab?
- Pre-hung doors arrive already hung in a new frame. We remove the old door and frame and install the new unit with fresh casing. This is the best choice when frames are damaged, doors will not latch, or you want a different size or height.
- Slab doors are just the door. We fit them to your existing frames, cut the hinges and bore the hardware. It is a cost-effective option when the frames are square and in good shape.
Sound, feel and finish
A solid-core door is the upgrade people notice most — the heavier weight, the quiet “thunk” when it closes, and far better sound control between rooms. Pair it with lever handles in a single finish throughout the house and fresh casing, and the whole interior feels more finished.
Why interior doors
Why upgrade your interior doors
Quieter rooms
Solid-core doors block far more sound than hollow-core — noticeable in bedrooms, offices and bathrooms.
An instant update
Swapping dated six-panel doors for clean shaker styles modernizes the whole interior.
Doors that close right
New pre-hung units fix sagging, sticking and doors that will not latch.
Wider, easier access
Wider doorways and lever handles make homes easier for everyone, including aging in place.

Florida homes
Interior doors in a humid climate
Even inside, Florida humidity affects doors — especially bathrooms, laundry rooms and doors near the garage. Solid-core and quality MDF doors stay flat and stable, and a proper paint finish on all edges keeps moisture out. Doors between an attached garage and the house must meet specific code requirements.
- Seal all six sides of every door, including the top and bottom edges.
- Bathrooms and laundry rooms benefit from moisture-resistant door construction.
- The garage-to-house door must be solid-core or fire-rated — we install compliant units.
- Leave room at the bottom for air return where your HVAC depends on it.

-
Pre-hung or slab
Pre-hung doors come in a new frame — best when frames are damaged or you are changing sizes. Slabs reuse your frames for a lower cost.
-
Solid-core or hollow-core
Solid-core for sound and feel; hollow-core for budget and closets.
-
Style and height
Choose a style that suits the house and consider taller doors with high ceilings.
-
Hardware
Levers or knobs, privacy and passage functions, and one finish throughout.

Interior Doors: frequently asked questions
Should I choose pre-hung or slab interior doors?
Choose pre-hung when frames are damaged, doors do not close properly, or you are changing sizes or styles significantly. Slabs are a good value when existing frames are square and in good condition.
Are solid-core doors worth it?
For bedrooms, bathrooms and offices, yes. They block much more sound and feel far more substantial than hollow-core doors.
How many doors can you replace in a day?
It depends on pre-hung versus slab and the amount of trim work, but many homes can be done in one to two days.
Do you paint the doors?
We can supply pre-finished doors, or leave primed doors paint-ready. Ask about painting as part of your quote.
Can you widen a doorway?
Yes, when the wall allows. Load-bearing walls need a proper header; we will tell you what is involved.
